I am a caterer based in Boughton near Faversham, specialising in events and cakes. I love to use local produce where possible (and in the garden of England there’s a wealth of it about) and because I work from my own kitchen, baking and cooking in small batches, my food really is homemade.

Canapés should be perfect little enticing morsels, each one a tiny, beautiful meal in itself. They are the perfect accompaniment for a drinks party: guests have a drink in one hand and aren’t able to hold a plate of food and negotiate cutlery as well, but if presented with a plate of canapés, how easy to take one and eat it. Minimum fuss, maximum enjoyment. They also make great starters too, because of their sociable nature.

For events large and small a buffet is hard to beat. Guests can be served or help themselves from the selection of dishes and they work well for every meal. I’ve done breakfasts, lunches and dinners, hot and cold or a mixture of both, such is the versatility of the buffet format.
